The Verterra Method
Understanding the Patterns. Expanding the Possibilities.
Much of how we think, make decisions, and respond to challenges is influenced by patterns developed through experience. Some of these patterns have contributed significantly to our success. Others may produce results we no longer want—or may serve us well in one situation but create difficulties in another.
Because these responses become familiar, we don't always recognize the assumptions and expectations influencing them.
The Verterra Method is a flexible, neuroscience-informed coaching framework designed to bring those patterns into greater awareness. Through reflection, thoughtful challenge, and experimentation, we explore what drives your responses, what serves you, and where different choices might become possible.
The objective isn't to eliminate the qualities that have contributed to your achievements. It's to develop greater awareness and flexibility in how you use them.
How the Verterra Method Works
The Verterra Method follows four interconnected movements—Reflect to Reveal, Resolve to Rewire, Redirect to Revitalize, and Repeat—but the process is flexible rather than strictly sequential.
Our work begins with understanding what matters to you and recognizing the patterns influencing your experience. Together, we explore the beliefs, expectations, and habitual responses that shape how you think, make decisions, and navigate challenges. Some of these patterns may be so familiar that you've stopped noticing them. The purpose isn't to judge them, but to understand how they operate and what they contribute.
As those patterns become more visible, we begin to examine the assumptions beneath them. We question familiar interpretations, consider alternative perspectives, and explore whether the responses that have served you in the past are still serving you now. This creates opportunities to recognize choices that may previously have gone unnoticed.
From there, we explore what those choices might look like in practice. Whether you're navigating a difficult decision, pursuing an ambitious goal, or approaching a familiar challenge differently, we experiment with ways to translate new understanding into your everyday experience. This is where insight becomes truly valuable—when new understanding translates into intentional choices and actions.
And we continue to revisit what we discover. Familiar patterns don't disappear simply because we recognize them, and changing circumstances can invite new questions. The Verterra Method is an iterative process that evolves with your understanding, experiences, and goals.
What Working Together Looks Like
Coaching with me is a collaborative partnership. You bring your experiences, desire, and questions. I bring scientific curiosity, thoughtful challenge, and a framework for exploring the patterns that influence your choices.
Our conversations are shaped by what emerges rather than a predetermined curriculum. I listen, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and offer perspectives that may help you examine familiar situations differently.
Depending on your interests and the questions we're exploring, our work may also incorporate structured reflection, cognitive and behavioral exercises, or neuroregulatory practices. These are resources we can draw upon when appropriate, not requirements of the process.
Our conversations are only one part of the work. Between sessions, you'll observe patterns as they arise, reflect on your responses, and experiment with different approaches. We use those experiences to deepen awareness, examine what you've learned, and inform our next conversation.
Where We Begin
You don't need to know exactly what you want to explore or where to begin.
An initial conversation gives us an opportunity to discuss what you're looking for, explore how I work, and consider whether coaching together would be a good fit.
